do you mean the linux will not read the disk? or it won’t read any disks?if not any disks you could try swapping out the drive for a new one. i don’t think xp can be loaded from an external drive. if it’s the linux that doesn’t read the xp disk but reads other ones like audio cd’s then it should boot from it
Oh yes you can use an external cd drive just make sure its connected. OR you can go to the microsoft store and buy the download version (Or any store that sells the download version)
I own a hypersonic laptop that currently has fedora installed on it. It was used for work purposes and now it is just going to be used for personal purposes and I would like to switch back to windows xp. The problem is that the cd drive on the laptop does not work (will not read disc).
You’ll be given the option to do an upgrade instead of a fresh install. In an upgrade, everything will transition to Windows 7 without any need to re-install your programs or data.
** Some programs (very few, if any) that were designed for previous versions of Windows may not work properly in Windows 7.
You *may* be able to upgrade depending on your operating system. If you are using Vista then yes you probably can, if you are using Windows XP then you can’t.
If you can upgrade you don’t need to re install, if you can’t upgrade then you’d have to install everything again.
In most cases it is recommended to do a fresh install instead of upgrade.

This tutorial shows you how to rip DVD to iPhone format, rip DVD to iPod Touch format.

rear windows you can paint them black, the 2 front ones I dont think they really care in NY, but in NJ you cant have them tinted

Don’t worry, you should be able to get your songs back.
If all your songs were purchased through iTunes, you can easily transfer them without software. Open iTunes, and under “File” select “Transfer purchases from iPod”. This will only transfer the songs you purchased from iTunes. But before you connect your iPod, make sure to go to preferences and disable automatic syncing of your iPod – just to be safe!
If you also have songs not purchased through iTunes that you need to transfer, there is software available to help. The other answerers already posted some good links, so I won’t duplicate their efforts.
As a last resort, contact iTunes through customer support (under “help”) and explain the situation. iTunes will often resend all your purchases to your account, allowing you to download them again.
