I accidentally changed the normal theme to the classic theme. Now the themes somewhat mixed. Every time I try to change it back to the Windows Vista theme, it doesn’t change, it stays the same. Please help.
OMG i have the same problem. have you tried going to control panel > appearance and personalization > Change the theme and then click windows vista. If that doesn’t work then sorry that’s all i can do.
I have Windows Vista and every time I log onto my computer the Windows Security Center pops up saying my firewall is turned off and I have to manually turn it on every single time. Also, the Windows Defender does the same thing and when I try to manually turn it back it, it somehow goes off again within a short period of time or it just doesn’t turn on at all. I want to remove Windows Vista from my computer, which has Windows Vista and Linux Ubuntu installed. I want to remove Vista, so that only Linux is available. How can I do this?
Simply format the drive or partition that Vista is installed on. You should be able to do this through Ubuntu, that way you can make that drive or partition the same file system as your current configuration (ext2 or ext3)
Before you do this check your menus to see if there is a program to create your own set of recovery CDs and make them. That way if you decide to go back to Vista you can do it with no problems. Once done just boot the Ubuntu CD and have it install, but this time choose the whole hard drive. It’s that simple.
I suggest you to try using PartedMagic, a minimal liveCD intended for manipulating partitions and much more. You just have to download it, burn it on a CD like you did with Ubuntu and then run it live: then just open Gparted and delete the windows partition (which is the NTFS-formatted one). You should also be able to extend the Ubuntu partition to include the space you hve freed, but only if the two partitions are contiguous.
